Lemons. I have an oversupply of lemons right now. Life pretty much sucks right now. I have no idea what my future holds. Will I be able to help support my family? Will I be happy in my new role? Will my kids be happy at their new school? So many worries. I fell off the wagon. Majorily. I took a 3.5 week hiatus from working out. And I'm a Beachbody coach. Sigh. Sometimes you go through life changes and it's like death. You go through the stages of grief. I've been through sadness, anger, hopelessness, bitterness, wanting to fight, wanting to give up, and more. Sometimes those stages change by the hour. Sometimes days. I've made 3 attempts to finish Turbofire from start to finish. My first go was on 2/29, second go was on 3/28, and today I started my third go. Each time giving up because of a blow to our family's future. This time I'm going to finish it. I have nothing else in life right now, but my workout. (Besides my family and friends that is.) Nothing in my professional life is under my control, so following the advice of a dear friend, I'm going to control what I can. Right now that is my Beachbody biz and my own personal weight-loss journey. Is it easy? Uh...no. Do I feel like doing it? Not really. I'm probably a little depressed. Am I excited about it? I'm pretending I am. What's that saying? Fake it til you make it? Yeah. That's where I am right now. But...there's always a but. In due time I will make it. There will be no more faking it. It will become a passion, a dream. It once was and will be again. It's buried deep inside right now with all the other feelings I have from my current life change, but it will come out. I know it. I will rise again and...I will make sweet, sweet lemonade. Challenge Packs this month!Hi guys! Our May challenge pack specials have just been posted! With love, Christy Oh my goodness! This is the best new recipe I have tried in a long time. It's 21 Day Fix approved. Each serving is 1 red, 1 green, 1 yellow, and 1 blue. It's kind of spicy for little kids, but if you love Mexican food, the spice will not turn you away! We made this last week, and I am making 2 batches today to meal prep for lunches. To make sure I have the right serving size, I cut it into 6 equal pieces before serving. 6 days of lunches and we are having green beans on the side. Yum! Update 5/1/16 I've been getting a lot of feedback that clean eating is expensive. It's not! Especially when you make a weekly plan and stick to only buying those foods on your plan. Everything in this meal was bought at Aldi, except the corn tortillas (which they now have at Aldi), diced chiles, and meat. This is so good! You don't want to miss out on this healthy version of Mexcian lasagna! Here's the recipe! 12 corn tortillas 1 can fat free refried beans 3 pack of colored peppers 1/2 large onion 1 pound ground turkey or beef drained 2 cans of diced chiles (Aldi has these sometimes) 6 blue containers of shredded cheddar cheese 1 package taco seasoning A little olive oil Dice peppers and onion and cook in skillet with olive oil. Meanwhile, cook meat and drain. Add chiles to meat and cook. When pepper mix is starting to have the grilled effect, mix in with the ground beef/chiles mixture. Add taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water. Simmer. In a baking dish, lay 6 tortillas on bottom of pan. Later with half a jar of beans. Later with meat mixture and cheese. Repeat. Bake until cheese is melted for about 30 minutes or so at 375 degrees. Cut into 6 equal pieces. Enjoy!!! I did! 😊 See the video! https://youtu.be/l0LUVnKMex8 As I was working on this coming week's meal plan, I was in disbelief as I added this week's workouts to the schedule. We are almost finished with Hammer and Chisel! That's crazy. It just goes to show you that time goes fast. Oh, how many times I said I was going to start a workout and then 8 weeks later, never started and tell myself I'd be in a completely different place if I had just started 8 weeks ago. I've met some goals this week! I set two main goals for the week. So I need to add another goal for this week. It HAS to be nutrition! I've decided I want to watch my macros and see what my daily caloric intake is. I am still going to use the colored containers that come with most Beachbody programs now, but I'm going to add a little more data to my nutrition. I am going to use My Fitness Pal, Water Your Body, and 21 Day Fix Companion apps to track macros, water intake, containers, and calories. And...the best part is...with all of this data, if I do want to indulge in a treat I can see how my day has been and decide from there. So data, data, data! I still have some spots available in my next challenge group. What do you get in a challenge group??? ~A nutrition plan you can follow for the rest of your life. ~A home fitness program you can do on YOUR own schedule in YOUR own home. (No more hours spent traveling to the gym, getting ready, working out, cleaning up, and driving home.) ~Nourish your body once a day with yummy Shakeology- because let's be real...no matter how HARD we try...we do not get the nutrients we need from food alone. ~Lose weight and tone up ~Reduce cravings ~Increase energy levels ~Promote regularity and healthy digestion ~One on one from your coach and support from the group ~30 day FREE trial of Beachbody on Demand (workouts from anywhere on any device) ...any a money back guarantee. With love, Christy Weeks 5 and 6 start tomorrow, Friday on the schedule is our Mondays. I am in love with this Mexian lasagna. The combination of ingredients just makes the best flavor. I guess I was in the mood for Mexican because I noticed I have it on there quite a bit this week. Comment below for any recipes that you need. Make sure to leave your email address. (It may already be in the recipes category if you click it on in the menu.) This week I plan to refocus my discipline. I am focusing on 3 areas: ~nutrition-staying on point with my eating plan. Don't need to waste my workout by what I put in my mouth. ~sleep-getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night. That means lights out by 8:45 at minimum. ~exercise-getting at least 5 days of workouts in. Minimum. Would like to do 6, but I'll be realistic. It's time to kick my butt in gear. I've been sliding through without strict discipline for a while now. Do you need a butt kicking from yourself too? I have a new challenge group starting on February 29th. If you'd like to join, I would love to have you. Please comment on this post or email me at [email protected]. https://getfitwithchristy.wufoo.com/forms/z1r7fdea0neodbb/ With love, Christy 1 can diced tomatoes 2 cans mixed vegetables 1 can potatoes cut into smaller pieces 1 pound of stew meat 1 packet of onion soup mix Stir. Cook in crockpot on low for 8-10 hours. Stir again. 1 1/2 cups is 1 red, 1 yellow, 1 green These are super yummy. This recipe makes 24 cupcake size quiches. 2 quiches=1 red, 1/4 blue You'll need: 24 eggs 1 pound sausage 1 package fresh mushrooms 6 blues shredded sharp cheddar cheese 2 tsps ground mustard Whisk eggs, add sliced mushrooms, cheese, and cooked crumbled sausage. Scoop into greased cupcake pan. Cook 400 degrees for 30 minutes. My stone pan is pretty deep. You may need to cook less depending on the size of your pan and oven variations. Enjoy! Next week's meal plan is ready to go. A couple revisions this week. Bumped down to plan A since I haven't lost weight. (At least I don't think I have since my clothes are fitting the same. See previous blog post.) I am trying a new recipe called Mexican Lasagna that I will post later this week. I just pulled some quiches out of the oven that I threw together. We will see how they taste and post that recipe later. The roast will be posted later too. (Two additions to shopping list are a can of stewed tomatoes and an onion soup packet. You'll need those for the roast.) Hope the shopping list helps those that don't know where to start. After all I'm here to help everyone any way I can. I welcome feedback on ways my meal planning can help you more! 😊 With love, Christy It's time to revise my plan! I've been doing Masters Hammer and Chisel since the 2nd week of January. I decided for this program that I would not allow myself to be a victim to the scale. So I stepped on it once at the start of the program. I wasn't too shocked to see that I had gained a little over Christmas break. After all, I didn't make the best choices. So I have regrouped and will step on the scale at 30 days and 60 days. Scale has been put away and has not been out since. So, during the past few weeks my family was hit with the stomach bug. Jeremy and I got a very light sentence compared to what our daughters went through. Poor things. It was awful. Awful for them and awful for us. So glad that's over with. I thank Shakeology for keeping Jeremy and mine's suffering to a minimum. Gotta love a daily shake with all the nutrients my body needs. Last week I had some stomach issues that I thought was severe constipation. When I called the doctor he wasn't sure if it was that or diverticulitis, so I went to see him. He put me on an antibiotic that weakens the tendons (Levaquin), so the workouts that I'm doing put me at risk of a serious injury. So I have had to forego Hammer and Chisel for at least 10 days. I may give myself a few days to make sure the meds are good and out of my system and that my tendons are strong and can handle the stress of a workout. I've had some difficulty getting the pounds off this January. I think part of it is my body needs less calories than the equation in Hammer and Chisel thinks I need. All bodies are different and maybe mine just likes to lose weight in the bottom bracket. I think this because when I started the 21 Day Fix Extreme and was in the bottom bracket, the weight was falling off. Now I'm struggling to get in a pair of jeans that I was wearing back in December. So revision time it is. Watch your body. Watch your results. If you are struggling or at a plateau we need to look at what your doing. Both with nutrition and fitness. It's the perfect combination of both that yields the best results. I'm slowly learning what works for me. And that's okay, because I don't want a quick fix that drops the weight, but comes back when I go back to my old habits. You shouldn't either. If you are looking for a quick permanent fix, it doesn't exist. Bodies don't work that way. Any program that tries to tell you that is false leading. Slow, steady progress that teaches you new healthy habits is the only way. Be happy with slow progress because your slow progress is being built to last! Don't forget I have another challenge coming up! We start February 8th with prepping our houses, meals, and getting to know each other. Then on February 15th we start working out and eating right. If you want to give this a try and change your life fill out my challenge group application. Can't wait to hear from you! https://getfitwithchristy.wufoo.com/forms/z1r7fdea0neodbb/ With love, Christy |
